ISO/IEC 17025 Training Course Held at BoM

From 5 to 7 March 2018, the Bureau of Metrology hosted a training course to present the standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 - General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.

The trainees were the employees from the Bureau of Metrology who possess knowledge in the field of work of testing and calibration laboratories and are experienced in the field of accreditation of laboratories according to the ISO/IEC 17025 standard. The training course introduced the trainees to major changes brought about with the new edition of ISO/IEC 17025, adopted on 1 December 2017.

The aim of the training was to introduce the trainees with the general requirements defined in the standard and requirements for the quality management system. Part of the course was dedicated to the technical knowledge in the field of testing and calibration, while a special part of the course was related to the acquisition of new basic knowledge and skills necessary for performing internal audits, as one of the requests of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and other management system standards including, for example ISO 9001.

The course was delivered by Ms. Danka Knežević, MSc, a lead auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAA 18001 and Head of Quality in a control body and Certification Manager in a certification body, and Jelena Babić Pantelić, Head of the Department for Electrical Quantities at the Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals and Lead Auditor at the Accreditation Body of Serbia for ISO/IEC 17025.
